Connect to Your Creativity Practice for Writers Now Available

Allyson Whipple, founder of Luna Nidra, has published Connect to Your Creativity: 40 Days of Prompts and Practices. The practice sequence is designed to help struggling writers relax, focus and tap into their inner creativity. The Connect to Your Creativity bundle costs $12, and includes four guided meditations, one guided yoga nidra, and an eBook practice guide with journaling prompts.

“Connect to Your Creativity brings writers the tools of yoga nidra and meditation to help them overcome blockage,” says Whipple. “Through meditation, relaxation, and journaling, you can overcome the negative thoughts that hold you back, change your habits and tune into your inner wisdom. When we can flip the script, decrease distraction and connect to our intuition, we can bring our creative selves to their full fruition.”

Whipple is the author of two chapbooks: Come into the World Like That (2016), and We’re Smaller Than We Think We Are (2013). She has been practicing yoga for 12 years and is completing her ParaYoga Level 1 certification.

ATX Hyperbarics to Host Open House for Practitioners

ATX Hyperbarics, an Austin-based hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) clinic, will hold an open house for health care practitioners from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 5 at the Westlake Medical Center to demonstrate its new PhotoBioModulation bed. This five-wave-length bed is the most powerful full-body table in the market according to ATX Hyperbarics and may be used as a complementary therapy with HBOT.

The addition of the full-body PhotoBioModulation bed to the clinic is the first bed of its kind in an Austin clinic for patient use. Unlike hyperbaric oxygen therapy, using the PhotoBioModulation bed does not need a prescription.

“Over the last four years, we have successfully treated over 450 patients with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy on referrals from dozens of providers around the country,” say Clay Womack. “Practitioners, come see why you need to add these modalities to your treatment regimens for chronic cases, athletic recovery, surgery prep and recovery.”

Free, limited to professional healthcare providers. Location: 5656 Bee Cave Road, Suite C-103, West Lake Hills. For more information, call 512-953-9421, email Westlake@ATXHyperbarics.com or visit Facebook.com/ATXHyperbarics or ATXHyperbarics.com.

Transit Empowerment Fund Announces Major Milestone

The Transit Empowerment Fund (TEF) Board has announced that since its inception in 2011, TEF has provided 5 million rides on Capital Metro buses through its annual transit pass program, and since 2016 has provided more than 1 million rides per year. Transportation is a critical element of keeping Austin affordable, especially for low-income individuals. The mission of the TEF is to enhance access to transportation for low-income, transit-dependent individuals in the Austin area.

The goal of all of the TEF programs is to help individuals remain or become more self-sufficient by providing transportation for them to access employment, health care, education and/or social services. Populations primarily served by the Fund include adults over the age of 65, people with disabilities, youth under the age of 18, Medicare card holders, low income workers, refugees and people experiencing homelessness.

In addition to the transit pass program, TEF funds Microgrants and Demonstration projects.

Innovative Startup CPRWrap Announces National Product Launch from Austin

Innovative and life-saving startup, CPRWrap, announced its national launch and rebranding from Austin in April, with founder and CEO Felicia Jackson at the helm. CPRWrap is a first-aid tool that is used for performing CPR quickly with a disposable, translucent overlay that guides the user through the American Heart Association-recommended steps.

Jackson first conceived CPRWrap after a terrifying near-death experience with her 2-year old son. Although Jackson was certified in CPR and has had a career as a medical professional, the traumatic nature of the situation made her freeze.

“I started CPRWrap because I did not want another parent to witness and be helpless when someone’s life hung in the balance,” says Jackson.
CRPWrap is available in three different sizes—infants, children and adults. The product is currently available for purchase through the CPRWrap or WalMart online stores.
