● By Cat Carrel
On Saturday, November 2, Moonflower Herb Fest will
gather herbalists and herb lovers to share their
experiences with plant medicine, healing and plant magic. The event will be
held from 8 a.m. to 6
p.m at Zilker Botanical Gardens.
The Festival seeks to grow the local herbal community by giving participants
the opportunity to meet local Texas herbalists.
Some traditions of healing say water is blood, water is life. The 2019 Festival will focus on water and will explore all aspects of what water means personally and in the community. These connections will be explored with teachers, herbalists and community activists who are working to heal sacred waters.
2019 conference teachers include Nicole Telkes, Maria Elena Martinez, Beth Ebbing Johnson, Mary Ayodele, Ginger Webb, Ellen Zimmerman and others.
An integral mission of the Festival is to create sacred space and grow the local herbal community. Native plant medicines of Texas will be shared through classes and plant walks. A diversity of classes will be offered which will appeal to both beginners and advanced plant lovers.Registration: All Access Pass $125, preorder lunch for an additional $15 or bring your own.
