How to Increase Holistic Wellness

In this physical world, wellness levels are generally measured by how fit people are and how good their life appears. Yet there is much more to a person’s quality of life than meets the eye.
The most important measurements for wellness are found in the quality of the unseen aspects within people. How open to life is someone’s heart? How much of an emotional and spiritual balance does one maintain? What is the quality of underlying thoughts people have about themselves and their lives?
While people generally measure wellness through what can be seen, they miss the true source. With an eye toward a holistic perspective, wellness is an optimal state of being in life, in mind, in heart and in body. The more people experience being in balance within their own selves, to their own expectations, the more they are living in a state of well-being.
It is easy to observe physical growth and compare it to statistics in order to evaluate progress. Parents do this as their kids grow up and go to the doctor when it does not measure up to standards. Teens, as they grow into adulthood, learn to do the same for themselves. Yet how are people to observe, measure and evaluate their unseen inner aspects?
Each person learns to identify his or her unique signs of well-being. It can be seen in the calmness of breath, a gentle heart rate, good feelings within the body, ease with life and thoughts that are more optimistic.
The wonderful truth about the way humans are designed is that they can be self-correcting, initiating change in life starting from within the self. When there is an imbalance, changes can be made. This is empowering to the people who have that fire inside to live a great life.
Take time to consider the quality of wellness in different areas of life. What areas are working and which need help? Consider physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, relationships, play, self-care, financial and business. Ask questions: What needs to change? What feels out of balance within? What is always a struggle? Is there a pattern in life that is uncomfortable? Is there an inner sense that something needs attention? What generates common complaints? Is there a dream that was left behind because of fear? What is unresolved that is blocking the good in life?
Use the inherent inner ability to select thoughts and intent to make change easier instead of difficult. Approach this from a state of curiosity. Consider making changes to be a new project instead of being some horribly difficult task.
Five Steps to Get There
Establish an inner readiness for change. Ask: Is there a willingness to change? Then make a choice to let go of the problem to make room for this new project. If there is resistance to letting go then contemplate what that is. Try writing it out and talking with a friend or a professional with the intent to release it.
Choose what is wanted instead. Ask: What would be better than what currently is? Deliberately select what it is and be specific. For example: have an extra $500 a week, an internal sense of well-being, a healed heart from love pains, increased self-esteem, peaceful thoughts, increased creativity, clarity about what is important in life or be more loving to themselves. Clear choices produce clear outcomes.
Gain dominion over thoughts. Ask: What thoughts support this change? Imagine what thoughts a person may have who already have this outcome; adopt them. Identify current thoughts that do not support this and imagine pulling them like weeds in a garden. Then imagine planting seeds of these new deliberately chosen thoughts to have them grow in mind. Write these thoughts down that resonate with what is desired in life. Read frequently.
Imagine it to create it. Take time daily to relax and imagine what life will be like when this occurs. Be in a peaceful environment. Sit comfortably, close the eyes and do some deep belly breathing to inhale a great life and exhale the tiredness and old energies. Imagine the desired outcomes as if they are already present in life.
Believe and Receive. Develop a belief that supports the outcome. Read uplifting messages, poems or writings to upgrade what they accept in life, choosing better results while rejecting lesser results. This fosters a consciousness that allows the new desired outcomes to be received.
Using this inner-driven change process requires that one only stays focused on the desired outcomes. Do not try and figure out how it will happen. Allow and receive new ideas on the how-to steps, and then do them.
People have found a customized fountain of youth using this process. Their clarity of life is renewed. Energies are awakened. Achievement is established as their norm while their heart centers are reborn to life’s unconditional love and infinite streams of possibilities.
